Following last nights twitter engagement with Niklas Savander, his second public Q&A on twitter now,

I would like to thank Niklas for his continued support in engaging with endusers of Nokia products, and of course, the Nokia enthusiasts amongst us.

Although its clear that Niklas wants to reach the normobs so to speak with his answers, but it would be very much appreciated if he would also answer the technical questions too, so us power users, and technically minded people can finally get on the same page as Nokia.

We are not ALL normobs, and its us Nokia enthusiasts that you should engage with at a deeper level.

@Niklas, as mentioned on twitter, I was, and still am very surprised at the poor marketing of the N8 handset, and by that I am referring to the N8 countdown sign placed, and hidden at Nokia House.

This countdown sign doesn’t mean much to anyone in terms of getting their hands on the N8 as the countdown sign is merely a countdown to when people can actually pre-order their N8. This to me is not good marketing. Trust me, I really want the N8 to do more than well, I want it to bring back many of those lost Nokia fans who had been loyal to Nokia over the years, this and new users/owners too of course.

I understand that product development takes time, but I too agree with many of the people out there that the time between announcing a device, and getting it into peoples hands is currently completely out of scope, and needs addressing.

As someone who will be at Nokia World next month, will I be witnessing the announcement of something groundbreaking, but then have to wait six months or more to actually get this groundbreaking device in my hand?

I understand that you are currently working very hard in plugging up the holes of product leaks, and anyone who knows me knows how strongly I feel about Nokia device leaks, I have wrote about such many times, and feel they do damage the brand, however, many feel that they also help the media, keeping them interested, but again, sometimes, as recently proven, can cause more harm than good.

What exactly are you doing to stop product leaks, and on another note, what are you doing as a company to fight counterfeit Nokia handsets? The latter I have also wrote about many times on NokiaDNA, and Nokiausers.

Question – Future PR Campaigns for Nokia products, and services.

Who has the final say, and gives the green light to such PR Campaigns? My point here is, you and I know that Nokia supports Go Green, Recycling, and protecting our environment, however, I was shocked to see a Nokia sponsored company giving a handful of bloggers top end sports cars to promote Ovi Maps Navigation on the N97 Mini.

These cars were then used to drive up and down the UK to carry out certain tasks, in return to give Ovi Maps, and the N97 some media attention. To me, and Im sure Im not alone in this thinking, this media attention could of been so so much more positive for Nokia on the whole if that particular PR Campaign had of used Green cars, ie> Bio-fueled, electric, or rechargeable vehicles instead of CO2 guzzling high end prestige sports cars.

Thats all for now Niklas, thanks for your time..Micky Aldridge

Yesterday a brand new video popped up in my newsreader, and it was of MeeGo OS shown to be running on a mobile phone. Although there has been questions asked about this video contents authenticity, there are several observations which point to it being genuine, I really hope so too, as Im quite impressed with what I see here, and Im sure you will do too.

4856174895 62f26af53f New Video Appears Showing MeeGo OS Running on a Mobile Phone Looks Impressive UpdatedOk, of course, if this is indeed real, this will obviously be an Alpha release, thus meaning not ready for prime time, but checkout the video for yourselves below. As I said, its looking impressive already, and has already impressed many technology enthusiasts from various blogs, to tech sites.

The Video poster added this following message in the comments on the video below.

And if you’re interested, there are two ‘possible’ new features that will differentiate MeeGo from other OS (these were mentioned during the survey). They are Near field communication (NFC) and some sort of enhanced Bluetooth.

NFC does indeed tie in with what many of us Nokia enthusiasts have already been hearing too. Fingers cross this is indeed for real, as I am personally looking forward to the N9, Nokia’s very first MeeGo power OS handset. I am also lead to believe it will boast an hardware qwerty too, but the latter is just hearsay. Enjoy.!

Looks like our bubble may of just been burst by IntoMobile.  See here for details on this video.
