Well thats screwed my Nokia World coverage. Having just spent the first day at Nokia World in London, I came back to my hotel with my N86 which I used to shoot all my photos, and videos of the first day, connecting it up to my Windows 7 laptop in my hotel room, using it as a wifi hotspot with Joikuspot Premium, and I find myself looking at a bricked N86, and a laptop with a failed Windows update.!

You see, my plan was to cover this years Nokia World 2010 on a Nokia device, my N86, using it to cover everything from photos, videos, voice notes, and of course using Gravity to fire out updates to twitter with the predefined hashtag #NokiaWorld, but I’m sat here now on the verge of tears being let down by the very thing I’m so passionate about.

So what shall I do now? Well, I am writing this entry in my Moleskine, taking a leaf out of my good friend James Whatley. When technology lets you down, or fails like #chansefail on you, then its pen to paper time.

I have an old Nokia device with me for emergencies, but sadly putting my giffgaff sim into it, I only then discovered the old 6230 is simlocked to T-Mobile, so then I though, hey, I can use the T-Mobile Sim that I got from my friend Dan Carter of WorldofNokia.co.uk, and I’m good to go, not.!  All my contacts were on my N86, and in Ovi Suite, but with both out of commission, I was left with no numbers to call, and let people know I was out of action, AWOL from the online space, no longer on twitter, no updates from the one place everyone was looking forward to my updates.

Now comes the final kick in the balls.  The T-Mobile simcard I got, is data only, with no credit to make any phone calls. Luckily, the Moleskine come to the rescue again, as I recalled making a not of Nirave’s mobile number, well, one of his numbers, so I tried that knowing I had no credit, and T-Mobile service sent a text to Nirave, asking him to call me back.

I’m now just about to leave my hotel, and head back to the ExCel center to see if Nirave calls me back, and to find someone who may offer a loan device for me to use for the rest of Nokia World.
